Chapter 8 Last Chance

SB kissed Nic on the head and walked into the hallway. "Why?" He asked and a small voice answered "So you guys couldn't go out tonight, she deserve better then you" SB was shocked, "well JEN I'm what she has and she seems happy you better tell her before I do". Jen rolled her eyes and walked into the room to lay with Nicki. "Whoa then where do I sleep?" Jen woke Nicki up and said "Please let me sleep here! I missed u big cousin" in the cutest voice and Nicki answered "Of course darling I love you goodnight". Hearing that Jen smiled as SB walked out with his head low. He went HOME.
SB hadn't been to his house in a couple of months. He lived alone since he was 13 but he didn't mind. With Nicki as his friend he always had someone to be with. He had no where to sleep because Jen was in his spot and the couch hurts his back so he slept in his own bed. His house was a few blocks away. He got there in 15 minutes. His house was the first on the block, it was light blue. SB walked up to it and thought for a minute before going inside. It was decorated nice but it was always empty. He didn't notice that he didn't lock his front door he just headed to his room to sleep. He hoped Jen wouldn't do anything to Nicki while he wasn't there.
*Back At Nickis House The Next Day*
Nicki woke up to an empty bed. SB doesn't wake up e earlier so she figured he was mad about something. She texted him asking where he was. He heard his phone vibrate and without opening his eyes he felt around the bed for it.
* SB's house *
He finally opened his eyes and stopped being lazy. That's when he saw her. She was sitting there with an evil smile. "I wouldn't answer that if I were you" she laughed. She walked over from the corner of his room to his bed and picked up the phone. She saw it was a message from Nicki and she smiled as she started to reply. 'Leave me.....' "Jen who is that?" SB yelled at her. She continued to type 'alone, I hate you bitch it's over I seem someone younger and much prettier'. SB got out his bed and tried to grabb the phone but she already pressed send. He didn't get the phone and she was still messing with it when he asked what she was doing there. She didn't answer she just walked out of his bedroom and his house. About 45 minutes later she was back at Nickis house.
"NICKI !! NICKI !! Help me !!". Nicki was upstairs in her room crying but she jumped up when she heard that. She got real serious when she saw the cuts and bruises on her little cousins face and body. Her clothes were ripped and she was crying. "What happened to you?, Why'd you leave the house this morning without waking me up? TELL ME NOW." But Jen wouldn't stop crying. The only thing Nicki understood threw the cried was 'Safaree'. Nicki's eyes grew wide thinking about the text he sent her. Nicki started crying historically "I'm so sorry, he'll pay!" She repeated over and over as she hugged her little cousin. SB was in the shower and he was thinking. 'What the hell is that girl up to'. He was getting out the shower when Nicki bursted into the bathroom. SB joked, "I really should work on locking doors" he laughed but then he noticed the tears and frustration on her face. "Babe...?" Was all Safaree could say before she went off on him. "Oh now I'm your babe? Fuck you Safaree, first you send me that text, then you do this to Jen and now you want me back? KISS MY ASS". SB was confused. He finished getting dressed while he talked to her trying to stay clam. "Okay first, what text?" When she ignored him he yelled her name which made her jump. She picked his phone up off the dresser but the message was gone she was so confused. So she grabbed her phone and showed him. He swore he didn't write that, "baby I don't even type like that. I swear it wasn't me" he said now holding her by her waist. Nicki was smiling and starting to fall into him, she could never resist when he held her. She remembered hearing SB tell Jen that she had to tell Nicki or he would then he remembered that text she punched him as hard as she could right in the face and he started to bleed from his lip. "WHAT THE FUCK". Her eyes started to water, "you changed to much" she cried. "YOU HIT ME AND I CHANGED!?! He said still yelling. "How could you rape Jen?" SB was furious he couldn't believe it. Nicki continued on "you said you found someone younger, why her!?!?" Nicki cried hitting SB's chess, he pulled her in close and told her she had to believe him. But of course she didn't. "Let me prove it to you then". The walk back to Nickis house was quiet until they hit the front steps because SB stepped in front of her.
"What the hell? Move".
"No! She'll never tell the truth in front of you, go the back way ill give u a couple minutes to get in place before I go upstairs".
"Whatever Safaree" He smiled at the way she said his name, she thought he was perfect but now her thoughts changed. Nicki got upstairs but she made a little noise, she couldn't climb so she was struggling. Jen heard her but she caught on fast. When SB got in the room Nicki was in the closet with it half way open he smirked at her being so predictable. He called Jen into the room.
"What?"
"Why aren't you crying anymore? Shouldn't you be scared if I really did hurt you"
"Fuck you SB"
"My friends call me SB"
"Yeah I'm leaving" she said coldly.
Nicki started to come out the closet when she heard Jen whisper 'I'm not admitting to anything with her in the closet' then starts laughing and runs off. Nicki waited a few moments to come out of the closet and she heard SB yell to Jen as she ran out the room "You have one LAST CHANCE to tell the truth about what you did!!"

Chapter 7 - Dead Wrong

Nicki and her mom were in the kitchen laughing and playing around when her cousin walked in. She was about 14 and Nicki was already 19 but she really didn't mind her being around. She looked a little like Nicki, her name is Jen. She's almost Nickis height and has the same long brown hair. Nicki loves having Jen around because she does what ever she says and she basically admires her.
"See you later mom, meeting Safaree for a movie" Nicki leaned over the counter to give her mother a kiss.
"Behave Onika" Nicki smiled and went upstairs. She wasn't surprised to see that Jen was right behind her but then she noticed Jen putting on her coat.
"Whoa Whoa Whoa!, where do you think your going?" Jens smile went into a glare, "With you Onika. I love you"
"I love you too baby but you can't come, this is time for me and Safaree. I'll take you out tomorrow". Jen wasn't happy, she sat on Nics bed and helped her pick out something to wear. She picked out a white shirt with a cute pink jacket. A white skirt with pink leggings and some pink high heels. Nicki loved this style, she dressed like this all the time.
"Okay while your in the shower I'll go down and wait for Safaree" Jen said happily, okay baby later Nicki said grabbing her stuff and going into the bathroom. As soon as Jen heard the door close she went back into Nics room quietly. She took something out of er pocket and poured it into the perfume bottle she knew Nicki would use, smiled then walked out. She was so happy now.
When Jen got downstairs she heard the door, Nicki's mom yelled "I got it." Then Jen immediately yelled "NOOOO" by this time she was at the bottom of the steps and she noticed how her aunt was looking at her. Then she smiled and said "you look busy I'll just get it". She looked through the peep whole and saw it was SB. She opened the door a crack just enough so she can get out then she closed it. She looked at him in a disgusted way. SB was confused but then he remembered her and rolled his eyes. SB had on a black Adidas track suit with a pink shirt and a pair of black and pink Adidas to match. He wanted to match Nic and he knew she'd have on pink.
"Can I come in?" He asked her.
"No but you can surely go home". Jen definitely had Nickis attitude but compared to what he's been through with Nicki it was nothing. "I never liked you and I promise I never will"
"Look Jen I really don't are just let me in"
"It's Jennifer to you butt face! Now go home" With that she turned around to walk into the house. She looked surprised when SB yelled "MAAAAA". SB always called Nickis mother his because his wasn't around so when she heard that she walked over to the door and asked what happened. Before he could tell her Jen stopped him and said "nothing". Nicki came downstairs wearing the outfit they picked out.
"Wow Nicki, You look beautiful" SB said while smiling.
Nicki pushed his head and laughed then she whispered, "starring is rude" is the most sexy voice she can make. For a while now Nicki has been trying to get SB to be sexual but he won't even kiss her for longer then a minute. He laughed at her joke and moved over. SB wasn't dumb he knew what Nicki was doing but he didn't want to be 'that guy'.
Nicki walked over to SB and hugged him from behind. He said "wow you smell good, it smells like....." He started to think then about a second later he threw her over his shoulder and ran up stairs. She was thinking he was finally have sex with her. But she was mad, her mother and little sister just saw that. To her surprise he turned on the shower and put her in it. He faced her toward the wall as he took off her clothes. He pulled the curtain and left with out saying a word to her. Nicki was mad, she sat on the shower floor and cried. "I just wanted the date to be perfect" she thought to herself. Mean while downstairs SB was throwing her clothes into the washing machine and rushing back upstairs. SB went back to the bathroom got soap and rubbed Nicki from top to bottom making sure she was clean. Nicki was confused, "I thought I smelled good Safaree" She finally said. SB smiled at her he looked her into her eyes as said "I love you" she didn't say it back, she was mad !. It was quiet for a while but he was still starring at her. A tear fell from his eye. "I'm sorry I love you too" Nicki said as she watched the tear go down his face. "Babe..." He said, in her head Nicki was the happiest girl ever "he never calls me babe" she said to herself then she looked up trying to stay cool and he said "please be more careful". She looked completely up and said "Okay Safaree please explain!!!" He laughed, "Okay get dressed first".
When Nicki got out the shower she saw that SB had hello kitty pajamas laid on the sink and her hello kitty slippers by the door. She put the stuff on put her hair in a bun and went into her room. She saw SB sitting there and smiled. "Miss me?" She teased. He said yeah and kissed her. "Why were you crying babe?" He looked at her and said slowly, "That was too close, I won't let it happen again, last time was bad enough!! But just know... Your cousin is DEAD WRONG".

"Mom we're gonna be late, come on already"
"Onika would you calm down?"
"I'm sorry but you know how I get when...."
".....when it comes to Safaree? Yeah I know! You love that boy"
"Wait mom he's my friend"
"I thought we didn't have time to wait" Her mother said with a smile.
Nicki walked past her mother rolling her eyes she headed to the car, straight to the drivers seat. "COME ON MOM" she rushed but her mom took her time, they had 3 hours and the place was 20 minutes away. Nicki was in a rush for nothing. 5 minutes later they were pulling off and of course Nicki was mad but she got over it. "So what'd you get him?" Nicki looked over at her mom and blushed at the question. She started talking a mile a minute "well, I got him new sneakers, a watch, a new hat! The hat's purple mom! And I got him a nice chain that says SB on. He might be mad about that because its pink but I got it anyway. I got him some nice jeans and a...." Her mother cut her off. "For my birthday you got me a card" Nicki laughed and said sorry mom this is different ! This is..." Her mom cut her off " I know darling I know, this is SAFAREE". She said his name like Nicki does and then laughed. "Mom would you stop? He's really my friend" "I know baby but we all know you want to be more. I like him and I know him very well it's fine with me if you date him but you know how far to go right Onika?" They were now at the place so she pulled over and looked at her. "Right!?" She repeated a little louder. " Mom I know your not talking about sex right now" Nicki started laughing, "I know I don't even want to! I didn't even know I liked him! I won't date him" "Why is she so confusing?" Her mom whispered while dramatically looking up. Nicki laughed again "Mom he doesn't like me we're bestfriends okay? I hope you don't mind!!" Her mom laughed then they got out the car.
Nicki was running around like a chicken for a while now. She had planned the perfect day, but it seemed so great to everyone except her. There wasn't enough ice, the chips were to hard and she missed SB. "Mom it's 7:30 where is he?!" She started to worry so she called him. She went outside because the music was loud.
"Hey birthday boy"
"What's up?"
"Where are you?"
"Same place you are"
"Safaree stop playing". He hung up the phone.
Nicki sat on the curb sad. "Where is he?" She kept thinking. SB walked up to her and pulled her up. She didn't see him because he came from behind her so she immediately began to fight him. "Damn girl chill" She heard his voice so she loosened up and let him pull her up. "Nicki I been here for about 10 minutes, you walked right by me twice I just couldn't get your attention" SB was a little drunk, he just turned 17 and he just wanted to try it. He kissed her. She didn't know what to say.

She immediately thought it was her mom then she realized he was drunk. She decided to never bring it up if he didn't. It's been 3 years now since that day and alot has changed. Nicki had a week to plan, and she knew exactly what she wanted to do.

Chapter 6 Right Thru Me (Part Two)

"Safaree where are you going!?!" He turned to face her,"Why are you doing this to me Faree?". SB started to loosen up, he couldn't be mad when Nicki called him that. Nobody had ever gave him the nickname 'Faree" and the way she said it was cute. He walked back over to the bed. "I won't go back and forth any more, I'm done Onika". He looked at her and she looked mad. "Fuck you mean your done?, I swear all boys are the same, I was ready to love you SB, I would've given you my all." Then she started to hold back her tears so she started talking through her teeth, "now your just giving up so bye SB.... Please just leave." SB picked up Nicki's phone and left. "Gimme my phone you bafoon", she yelled but he kept walking. Out into the hallway, down the stairs and out the front door.
Nicki got up and closed her door. She didn't care if he had her phone she had other things to stress about. She took out her journal and started to write. ' I LOVE HIM, I LOVE SAFAREE LLYOD SAMUELS!" Over and over then she felt something vibrate. She figured since SB forgot his phone and had hers she'd have some fun with his. SB got a text message and Nicki was unsure about checking. But when she eventually checked it this is what she saw on the screen.
'Message from My Beautiful Future Wife". She couldn't believe it, SB really did have a crush on someone. This made her real mad. She decided to open the message and this is what she read. "I love you". She couldn't believe it, she put the phone down and layed down. She picked up the phone multiple times and debated on what to do. Finally the phone rang again. Another text from the same person. Nicki read it out loud this time. 'I could never tell you how I felt because I love you. You're my everything and I swear I'll treat you like royalty if you let me." Nicki stopped reading and thought for a second then she continued. " I have loved you a long time and there has always been someone in the way. Only reason I got mad was because I hate not being able to call you mine. We can work through it all I promise you Onika! We......" Nicki trailed off then noticed it had her name. She went further up in the text message and noticed it was her and SB's conversation. He had her saved in his phone as "My Beautiful Future Wife". Nicki couldn't believe it. She picked up the phone and called him. "Safaree I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you" she said while smiling. "Girl you wasting my minutes" before Nicki could tell at him for ruining their moment he said "unlock the door?" She ran to her bedroom door, unlocked it and when she opened it she immediately kissed him. "Faree you see RIGHT THRU ME I need you! I love you"

Chapter 6 Right Thru Me (Part One)

"Safaree"
"Onika" she gave him a dirty look while he laughed.
"I saw you Safaree", she grabbed his face and their eyes met, "talk to me?"
"Well..... It kinda started in 2nd grade" Nicki looked at him," Safaree what the hell are you tawkin about!?" SB looked sad then Nicki grabbed his face again "Just start when your feelings started..." She trailed off. "So like I said before!, It started in 2nd grade" He looked down at the floor before he continued. "The most beautiful girl was in my class she was short beautiful and down to earth" Nicki watched him lick his lips. "She became my bestfriend! I love her and always will" "Safaree why do you keep saying she? Say my name" She said in a low voice. "
Onika Tanya Maraj" SB repeated over and over 5 times. "I couldn't get that name out my head for the last 10 years of my life, your face, your name, your voice. He started to get up, " Wait where you going?" Nicki asked. "Shut up Onika", he pulled her so close they could feel each others breath but SB continued " I use to drive myself crazy thinking of us, how couldn't you feel the sparks Nicki? How couldn't you feel it too?" SB remembered the text Nicki sent her mom so he knew she felt the same but he wanted her to admit it.

Chapter 5 Save Me

Nicki though about her mothers words for a while before she went to sit next to Safaree. She didn't know what to say so she just looked at him. She felt scared. Like she was loosing her bestfriend. "I'm sorry please talk to me", she wanted to say but her mouth was so dry and her mouth wouldn't open to speak. She saw another tear drop from his eye as he sat quietly looking at the floor. She lifted her hand to wipe his tear but he pulled away. SB has never been this mad at her, he never pushed her away. "Safaree, talk to me now". He glared in her direction. He yelled "NO ONIKA IT'S NOT ALWAYS WHAT YOU WANT". SB never yelled at her before only in a playful way but he used her first name so she knew he was serious. His yelling made her jump. Whenever she was scared she had him to run to but now she felt like she had nobody, she even thought her mom hated her. Then she remembered something her mom always said "When ever you need me Onika I'll always be right there" She texted her mother "SAVE ME" then went over to SB and held him tight, he didn't say a word.
SB's head was blank. He wasn't thinking anything or hearing anything, he was numb. His heart was broken, he wanted to go home but he couldn't move. Not because Nicki's grip was really tight but because his legs wouldn't move. SB didn't notice Nicki was holding him, he sat there lost and heartbroken. Nicki kissed his cheek and kept saying sorry but he couldn't hear her. He couldn't hear anything. Then SB felt a cold wind and he was able to move again. He noticed he was crying and he tried to wipe the years away. It's been 15 minutes since he talked or moved so when he did that Nicki turned to face him quickly. He said "Nicki I'm...." Before he finished she cut in "as long as your okay..." With that Nicki walked upstairs into her room and shut the door. She wanted to cry but she had no more tears left in her.
"What happened?" SB asked, now in her mothers room confused.
"Well soon, you tried to tell her but you froze up, I'm not sure what happened but you were crying"
"What did I say?"
"You said she took it all back but I'm not sure that's true"
Her phone buzzed, it was a text from Nicki saying ' I love him too much to love him' She showed him the message and he saw the other one that said "SAVE ME". A few seconds later Nicki heard footsteps outside her door, she thought it was her mom and she really needed to talk so she ran and opened the door. It was SB and he pulled her in tight and wouldn't let go. "Safaree what's wrong?" She asked but she bearly got it out because her face was smushed against him. He didn't speak he just let go of her and walked over to her bed and sat down leaving her in the door way. She walked over looking at him sideways ".....Safaree....?" "Yes ma'am he said with a smile. Then he patted the spot on the bed next to him so she would go sit. When she sat down she fell into his arms and told him that he scared her. To him it was the cutest thing ever. He hugged her then said, "I'll never yell at you again, I promise. He kissed her on the cheek and got up to use the bathroom. Nicki pulled his arm and said "Thats all I get?" Then she pulled him into a kiss that they both enjoyed until SB pulled away when he noticed her mom in the door way. "Mom!" He said, Nicki said "whoa playboy since when that's your mom?" They all laughed and her mom said "Since the day you two couldn't stay away from eachother in second grade" They both blushed then she continued, "well don't mind me I just needed to use the bathroom". Nicki looked at her and started laughing, "what about the one near your room". "Onika I can pee where I please!" They all laughed and they both mouthed ' thank you ' to her at the same time. She smiled and walked away.

Chapter Four : Right By My Side 

       

          SB starred into her eyes while she talked. He couldn't think about anything but her lips touching his. He knew he loved her but after that kiss he knew they had to be together! But after he daydreamed for about 5 minutes he noticed Nicki rambling on and on about NOTHING. 

SB grabbed her face so they were looking eye to eye. "I'm still your bestfriend, talk to me like I am" Nicki started to cry on SB's chest, SB couldn't figure out was was wrong so he just held her until he fell asleep too. About an hour later Nicki whispered "SB carry me to the bathroom" in a cute little whining voice. Before he even opened his eyes from his nap he was on his way up the stairs with Nicki in his arms like a little baby. She looked at him and smiled, "what you pain in the butt?" He laughed, "Safaree!" "More like servant isn't it? Isn't that how you see me!?" Nicki couldn't believe he felt like that. She was quiet until they reached the bathroom, he put her down and tried to walk back downstairs but Nicki grabbed his arm and pulled him into her room. She pushed him on the bed and text her mom saying "it's time". 

          SB didn't know what to think. Nicki went and locked the door, he didn't want to have sex with her so he was confused. "Is this her way of saying sorry? I could never use her this way" SB thought to hisself. "Nicki what are you doing?" "Safaree just wait!" She paced around the room for about 5 minutes thinking of what to say until SB once again broke the silence. "You don't have to do or say anything you don't mean, remember that" Nicki laughed, "I swear you always think you teaching somebody something boy". SB side smiled and continued to sit on the bed. Nicki walked over and say on his lap. She looked him in his eyes and took a deep breath. Then she said, "Don't make a sound til I'm finished". SB shook his head. 

Nicki began " Okay , remember that day we met in 2nd grade? I think about it everyday how we would hold hands under the table and always be partners so we would go work on projects at each others house. I miss those days but we always did everything as bestfriends but there's something I need to tell you. SB tried to cut in "Nicki..." "Shut up Safaree", she interrupted. He smiled and nodded his head to tell her to go on. " I don't wanna ruin this friendship! I can't loose you! You've been RIGHT BY MY SIDE since I can remember but I have feelings for you. Deep ass feelings Safaree, but you don't see them. She started to cry while his eyes got wide. He picked her up and held her close. "Can I talk now?" Nicki smiled and rolled her eyes. "Seriously, I've felt the same way, I just didn't wanna ruin the friendship. I think having you as a friend was easier than loosing you to my dumb ass feelings. But Onika......." She looked up at him as he trailed off. He laughed while  You know how long your mom has been telling me to tell you?" But Nicki didn't laugh she just looked at him. She cried more while she got up and walked out the room into the bathroom. She sat on the floor and cried. 

"Hi Onika" 

"Mommy why?, Why'd you do that?" 

"Why are you crying!? What's wrong" 

"I told you I'd do it! Now I have no idea if he loves me for me or if he has feelings because you told him I did first. Mom now I'll never know" 

*sb was standing outside the door listening while Nicki cried more*

"Onika listen" 

"No ! I'm done listening now ill never know if he really loves me" Nicki hung up and walked outside the bathroom right into SB's stomach. She looked up with red puffy eyes and tried to play it cool, "sorry I took so long, had to fix my hair" she half smiled and walked away. 

          SB said he was going home he left, no hug no kiss on the cheek no smile, he slammed her room door then left her sitting on her bed. He didn't go home, just into the living room and cried. Her mom came in to find him. She sat next to him and held him. "She took it all back", he cried. "I knew she would" he cried onto her shoulder. "ONIKA GET DOWN HERE NOW" her mother yelled. Nicki stormed out her room and down the stairs to see SB trying to hide his face. "Safaree?" She looked worried. " I never saw you cry! What's wrong". It was quiet. Finally her mom spoke up. "Your the problem Onika, you've been his problem for years and now you need to be the solution" Then she looked at SB and he gave her a worried look and he shook his head telling her to stop. She got up and walked out. She whispered to her... "He's always been right by your side Onika... Fix it...."

Chapter 3 : The Truth (Part Two)

          The kiss lasted about 5 minutes. It was everything SB thought it would be. For years he had to imagine her lips on his and it was finally coming true. He couldn't believe that she was finally looking at him as more than a bestfriend. He thought he was dreaming but he didn't mind as long as he didn't wake up. He loved every minute of it. He knew her lips were soft from when he kissed him on the cheek all the time but this was different. He had butterflies when they kissed, SB was in a trance. 

          Nicki started to worry, SB had been starring into space for some time now. She kept calling his name, "Hello, Safaree... Did I do something wrong?" Nicki started to turn away to go sit back on the coach. That's when she felt his grip get tighter. He didn't realize but he was still holding her waist in their position of the kiss. "I'm sorry SB, idk what I've been thinking! It's just..." SB interrupted her by giving her another kiss. This one was much shorter but he still got the same feeling. They were still face to face when he said "By the way... I'm Safaree to you" They were so close that when he said that she could feel his breath and when they laughed there lips still touched. 

          SB grabbed her hand and pulled her to the coach. "Okay listen, I need to tell you something and I couldn't think of a better time" SB got a text and he didn't want to check it. Nicki grabbed his phone. "Yeah there's something I need to talk to you about to". Nicki said kind of quietly. "Come on Nicki me first" he said excitedly. "No! Listen I need to tell youTHE TRUTH, this has been bothering me since last night". SB sat and listened while Nicki talked.

(Flashback SB's Point Of View) 

"I'm Safaree" he said shyly. 

"Well it's really nice to meet you" She replied. "I know the teacher said my names Onika but call me Nicki". 

"But I like Onika, it's pretty and different" 

          Her smiles was one of the most beautiful things he's seen in his 8 years of life. "I hope she sits here all year" he said to himself while awkwardly smiling. 

"Okay class everyone choose a partner" Ms. Cole said and immediately the girl from across the room that has been watching SB jumps up. He didn't notice her because he was too focused on Nicki. 

SB said to Nicki "Well since you told me your nickname you can call me SB instead of Safaree, I don't really like it" He looked sad so Nicki put her arm on his shoulder and said " No way! You'll always be Safaree to me!" 

He smiled then said "So we partners or what?" By this time the girl from across the room was behind him tapping his shoulder. He turned around and she claimed him as her partner. Her name was Candy and she hated Nicki already. Nicki was territorial and she saw him first. 

"He's kinda my partner so back off" Nicki said angrily.

"Oh well" Candy said pulling him out of her chair. Candy was much taller than them but Nicki didn't care. She got up. SB couldn't help but think Nicki was so cute, he wanted to be her boyfriend so bad! She was pretty when she smiled and even when she was mad. He loved her.

(Flashback Nicki's Point of View) 

          

          "Mommy I'm nervous" 8 year old Nicki said. "Don't worry baby I'll pick you up by 3". Nicki frowned "okay mommy I love you", "okay baby get in the car". It was a 15 minute drive to Nicki's school. She was new to America, she was originally from Trinidad but she always knew English. She was pretty and her mother always told her so, she always wanted to go to school but she never thought she would have to leave her mother. Nicki and her mother were like bestfriends, she loved her mom and never imagined leaving her for more then 3 hours. 

          When they got to her school Nicki wouldn't get out the car. "Lets go Onika", "Mommy no! I don't wanna please take me home!" She watched her mother got out the car and she pouted. They both walked in hand and hand into classroom number 2. It was already 8 o' clock so everyone was seated. There was one empty seat near a quiet boy. The teacher introduced her as Onika. The "quiet" boy couldn't take his eyes off of her. She walked her mom back to the door and whispered "Mom I'm gonna love this school!" She kissed her and ran to sit next to him. "So what's your name?" She said while giggling.

Chapter 3 : The Truth (Part One)

          In the morning SB woke up before Nicki like always and decided to cook breakfast. When Nicki woke up she saw a note on the bed from her mom saying "I'm going to be out all day it's your chance to have alone time with him and tell him". Nicki rolled her eyes at the note and went to brush we teeth and wash up. 

          When Nicki was on her way downstairs she didn't hear anything. "Safaree?" She yelled. "Why do you call me that! It's like I'm in trouble" They laughed and she said "Because you'll always be little Safaree to me" he kissed her forehead and carried her down the rest of the stairs. "Man it smells good" she said smiling ear to ear. "Cooked it all myself" SB said smiling. Nicki went over to get some juice and she found another note: "He didn't cook a thing he just watched" Nicki walked over to SB and smacked him on the head. He looked at her confused so she held up the note, they couldn't do anything but laugh! 

          They were watching t.v for a while before Nicki got bored. Nicki said "I have an idea lets talk, we never do that anymore" SB gave her a look and thought "oh boy". SB faced her and tried to play it cool. "What you wanna talk about?". Niki smiled at the idea of him being open to talking. "So we both know it been a whole since you had a girlfriend Safaree..." her voice trailed off. "Yeah and...?" SB said while thinking "OMG she knows how I feel and she feels the same way" Nicki stayed quiet because she was thinking herself, "damn I don't wanna know who he likes, he should be with me... Should I ask?" 

          What Nicki didn't realize is that she was quiet for about 5 minutes just starring into space. SB was starring into her eyes, he couldn't believe how beautiful she looked. Her waved his hands in her face "helllllooooo" he said. "Get your hands out my face bafoon" He laughed "okay your back but what's up? You had something on your mind?" Nicki was silent again. "If you don't feel comfortable you don't have to tell me, I'll just see you later" SB said sadly getting up to go to the door. He felt Nickis arm pull his so he turn around and to his surprise she kissed him.

Chapter Two ; Friendship Part 2 

Nicki called SB 

Nic - Hello? 

SB - What's up? 

Nic - Can you come back over? I miss you 

SB - I was just waiting for you to open the door 

          When Nicki went to open the door she couldn't help but jump into SB's arms and he was happy to catch her. She kissed him on the cheek and apologized while he carried her inside. They walked past Nickis little brother. " Aw look at the love birds " he joked. SB blushed and Nicki ignored him because he always made comments like that. Mama Carol saw them and said " Thanks for coming back I don't think I could handle her complaining for another minute" SB smiled and Nicki whinnied " Mommm!!!" Mama Carol just smiled and left. 

          Nicki have SB his food once they got to the kitchen but before she let him eat she apologized. They talked it out and started to eat laugh and be back to normal again... Until Nicki brought up an uncomfortable subject. 

          "Faree?" Nicki asked with a questioning look on her face. " Yes pain in the butt?" He said laying on her bed right next to her. "What bothered you most?" Nicki asked now facing him. SB rolled over and said "what the hell you talking about now Nicki?" They laughed as Nicki managed to stop she said "No forreal what made you cry earlier?" SB froze in his place then turned away from Nicki. She wasn't going to let that slide though so she leaned over him. "Faree I asked you something" "yeah I know" he replied. Nicki said "whatever" like she had an attitude and went back to her side of the bed. SB got a text that read "TELL HER" he read it and didn't answer. Nicki said "aren't you gonna get that?" He said no and fell asleep. 

          Being nosey she grabbed his phone to see who it was. Normally she wouldn't have to but lately he hasn't been telling her ALOT. "Real bestfriends didn't have secrets" she thought. Her eyes got wide as she read the text. SB had a crush and didn't tell her... Boy was Nicki mad!

     Chapter One ; Friendship 

     "I hate you Safaree" Nicki yelled from behind the locked bathroom door. 

"But Nic I'm sorry" SB whispered back. "Just leave I hate you". At those words SB slide to the floor of the door and silently cried. Nicki thought he finally left which made her mad. "How the hell could he leave when I'm so upset" she thought. Then she heard whispering. 

          "Hello" she heard a sad SB say. "It's Nicki man I don't know what to do". Nicki wished she could hear the other side of the conversation or atleast who he was talking to. "No, it's not the right time" SB continued, " I said I won't tell her! " BOOM he hangs up and continues to cry. He whispers to hisself " All these years but she never said she hated me, what did I do" Nicki wanted to hug him and not be mad but she was too stubborn for that so she waited until she was sure he left. 

          Two hours later Nickis phone vibrated, she wasn't surprised when it was a text from SB. This is how there conversation went ;

SB - I'm sorry forgive me? 

SB - Nicki please? 

SB - Okay I'll wait . 

          Nicki smiled at the texts but never replied she felt like she hurt him and she wanted to make it up to him. She made some dinner and called him over. But she didn't know he never really left. He sat on her steps outside her house in Queens , NY until she was ready to talk. 

          SB has known her for a long time and he's loved her every minute. With all her flaws he still saw the good and loved her for it. Nicki only saw him as a bestfriend but she never understood why she got mad at him the way she did but soon she'd find out.
